In 1998 Rock Shox presented the first generation SID, quickly becoming the reference of light-weight suspension forks. In the following years technique, design and features were constantly improved. For 2014 Rock Shox refined the likely most popular and lightest high end cross country suspension fork of all time even further. Dig Valve sounds the new system which work in the oil circuit of the SID 2014.

This system allows a faster out spring and holds the travel high to be faster prepared for the next obstacles. Specially therefor designed would be the piston of the rebound damping. Also reworked would be the high and low speed compression for a better compromise between feedback and damping. One of the biggest eye catching things are the black anodized standpipes. In combination with the new seals, which needs less lubricant, the fork has a better response characteristic and minimize friction.

The negative spring scale at the standpipes and the smoothly adjusting knob helps for a perfect setting. With the SID XX World Cup Solo Air RockShox offers the ultimate World Cup level race fork with stiff 32 mm stanchions to conquer all the challenges in tough XC or endurance races. The combination of the super-light Solo Air spring with the comfortable Motion Control DNA damper and the PowerBulge Casting makes for one of the lightest yet exceptionally stiff XC forks on the market. The integrated bolt on cable stop allows for neat routing of the brake hose. The spring rate of the light and plush Solo Air spring can be adjusted using just one valve, effectively filling the positive and negative air chamber simultaneously.

The heart of the SID XX World Cup is the Motion Control DNA damper unit. The super-light, hydraulic XLoc remote lever allows the rider to easily lock out the fork at any time without the need to let go of the handlebar. Furthermore the Dual Flow rebound damping can be adjusted to suit the terrain and the riders preferences. Dual Flow incorporates two independent damping circuits for small and big hits. The XLoc remote control is MatchMaker X (MMX) compatible for a light and extra-tidy cockpit.

Developed as a BlackBox technology and proven on the toughest race courses around the world, the hollow one-piece Carbon Crown-Steerer sheds grams while still offering superior overall stiffness. A tapered steerer offers excellent braking stiffness while the handy Maxle Lite 15 mm thru axle provides significantly improved torsional stiffness.
