1998 GT Zaskar LE 14.5 Frame Shimano XTR/Magura Raceline/Rock Shox SID. For your consideration is this incredibly optioned 1998 GT Zaskar LE. The frame size is 14.5 c-c. No expense was spared in this frame-up build. I have approximately 40 miles on this build, completed in the Spring of 2019. This bike was built to be ridden, not to as a collector or display piece. NOS Magura Raceline hydraulic brakes. 26 x 2.2 Maxxis Holy Roller tires w/new tubes. NOS Shimano XTR front hub and skewer. NOS Mavic 121 SUP Ceramic front hoop. New black Shimano 8-speed cassette. New spokes and nipples (black- both wheels). New Odyssey Triple Trap pedals.

New shift cables and housing. NOS Titec Big Al stem. NOS SDG Bel-Air SL carbon saddle w/GT Bicycles logo. New SDG I-Beam seat post. Shmano XTR M952 Rear Derailleur.

Rock Shox SID Front Fork. Mavic 121 SUP Ceramic rear wheel (original) w/Shimano XTR hub (original), new black spokes and nipples. The frame is NOT new- it has been used, ridden, and well loved. Photos show the cosmetic condition.

There are numerous small scratches and knicks in the paint throughout, to include your standard cable rub on the top, down, and head tube. There are tire rub marks on the inside of the seat stays (previous owner of the frame ran very wide tires). The drive side chain stay has considerable chain slap marks. There are no apparent bends, dents, cracks, or other structural concerns to note.

The Rock Shox SID is in great mechanical shape. It holds air, the seals do not appear to leak, and it compresses and rebounds nice and smooth. Cosmetically, the fork is in average condition.

There are scrapes in the paint throughout. Most of the factory decals on the fork appear to be present, however, they are not in "new" condition. The Magura brakes are amazing. There are no leaks in the system.

I have the brakes dialed in to my liking, however, the new owner may need to bleed or fill, depending on their taste. The pads show minimal to no wear. The wheels were rebuilt using the parts described above. There is virtually no bends or wobbles.

This bike is very light (22lbs) and nimble. It is a blast to ride whether casually, cross country, or even if you're inclined to mimic Hans "No Way" Rey with some trials riding. Contact me to discuss this option. Check out my other listings for more vintage MTB stuff!
